![]() Always read labels for fat and hidden calories. Choose fat free, but make sure the products aren't loaded up with sugar and calories. Just because it says "fat free" doesn't always mean it is good. It also doesn't mean that you can eat as much as you want. Use common sense and eat what your body needs and stop. If you are a snacker, always have fresh raw veggies chopped and ready to munch on. Make several small baggies of these crunchy treats at the beginning of the week and keep some with you for an quick hunger deterrent. Also watery fruits are a great way to curb appetite with little calories. Don't torture yourself. Don't make severely drastic changes and most importantly, DO NOT SKIP MEALS. Skipping meals will cause your body to go into starvation mode and store fat for energy. Drink at least a litre and a half of clean water every day. Keep it on hand always. (Zoe Life counts for this requirement) Drink Zoe Life with water at least twice a day. The whole food based nutrition will trick your body into thinking that it is being fed. It is a great way to fight off hunger any time of the day and will keep your energy level high from natural sources. Eat extremely lean Mon. - Fri. and treat yourself to a little cheating on Sat. (Don’t go crazy) If you feel hungry and on the edge of blowing it with a candy bar, keep rice cakes on hand. These will curb your hunger especially if you follow with plenty of water. When eating out, small changes can make a big difference. Order without butter, light on the oil, lean, grilled, baked, or broiled instead of fried meats. Try to choose dinner salads with vinegar based dressings topped with grilled meat. You’ll be surprised at the choices that are available on the lite side. Eat 4 to 5 small meals per day consisting of lean protein, clean complex carbs, and fresh(preferably raw or slightly steamed veggies. (I’ll get some sample meals together for you). Do Cardio in the early a.m. (treadmill, bike, brisk walk, etc.) at least 30 minutes. Get your heart rate up to about 130 bmp and keep it there for 30 minutes. This is always a great way to work that heart muscle and keep it healthy. The quick fat burner workouts are awesome, but good ole’ full blown cardiovascular workouts are always a winner. Do not eat beforehand, just have a Zoe Life first thing when you wake up, therefore you are burning mostly bodyfat. Drink water during the cardio as well. Also, taking a walk with the wife a few evenings a week is good quality time and good for the soul !!! (prayer walks will build the spirit and get you fit!) Much more to come! |
